Blake Lively will star in a new Gucci short film directed by Drive helmer Nicolas Winding Refn. The project will be for the upcoming Gucci fragrance titled Gucci Premiere, which Lively will be the face of.

Unfortunately, there are not a lot of details about the short other than it has already been shot and it is said to be somewhat similar to The Lady Dior short film series that Marion Cotillard has been a part of over the last couple of years.

Speaking to THR, Gucci creative director Frida Giannini said:

“In conceiving this fragrance, I was inspired by timeless Hollywood glamour and the iconic leading ladies of Hollywood’s golden era. Blake’s unique style and charisma brings that allure to life in a very contemporary way.”

Blake Lively will be following in the footsteps of James Franco, Evan Rachel Wood and Chris Evans, who have all been a part of Gucci campaigns, and though the short won’t be a major boost to Lively’s filmography, being directed by Refn is a great opportunity for the young actress.

Lively will of course be seen next alongside Taylor Kitsch, Aaron Johnson, John Travolta, Uma Thurman, Benicio Del Toro, Salma Hayek, Emile Hirsch and Demian Bichir in Oliver Stone‘s new film Savages, which hits cinemas on July 6th.

The short film will be presented at a special event at the Venice Film Festival on September 1st.
