2) Aunt May’s Death
Certainly one of the most upsetting moments in the aftermath of the Civil War conflict – though largely eclipsed by another, shocking moment – was the loss suffered by Peter Parker. After learning of his foe’s secret identity when Spider-Man unmasks himself at Tony Stark’s side, the Kingpin arranges for an assassin to track Parker’s family with the intention of having him kill someone close to him.
The assassin succeeds when he is able to hit Aunt May with a bullet that Peter pushes MJ away from, thus driving Peter into a wild rage that even sees him return to his black, symbiote-styled suit in the resulting comic storyline.
[zergpaid]This would be a hugely emotional moment to bring into the movie, especially given it will be the first time we meet this new on-screen iteration of Parker, and is likely to be one we are deprived of. It’s easy to see why, given that Marvel will want Aunt May around for the upcoming Spidey reboots, but just imagine what a shocking event this would be if it did make its way into the movie.
There would certainly be tears.
