Say what you will about Suicide Squad, but the movie does a superb job of establishing Amanda Waller as a force to be reckoned with in the DC Films Universe. It remains to be seen where the head of A.R.G.U.S. will show up next, but that after-credits scene with Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne definitely seems to point to those two crossing paths again sooner rather than later.

The brilliant Viola Davis is both compelling and utterly detestable in the role, with the way she manipulates both her “ally” Rick Flag and the members of Task Force X making her by far the movie’s greatest bad guy. Even when Waller promises to send a chopper back to Midway City for the team, it’s actually hard to believe she means it, and the more we see of this character post Suicide Squad, the better.
