1) Deadshot
The true MVP of Suicide Squad is without a doubt Will Smith’s Deadshot. His backstory is by far the most interesting (even if that fight with Batman was a disappointment), while his arc is way more satisfying than the movie’s other characters. In fact, by the time the credits roll, the door has been opened in a way that means we could see Deadshot return in a solo outing as an anti-hero of sorts or as a villain in The Batman.
Regardless of what the future holds in store for Floyd Lawton, this may very well be Smith’s best performance in years, and the fact that he even dons the mask every now and again is particularly satisfying for comic book fans. Whatever other faults Suicide Squad might have, at least Warner Bros. and David Ayer didn’t drop the ball on this beloved character.
