4) The Joker
It’s become apparent in recent weeks that the vast majority of Jared Leto’s scenes as The Joker were left on the cutting room floor. The main reason for that seemingly boils down to Warner Bros. wanting to lighten up the tone of Suicide Squad after the negative response to Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice‘s darker tone, but to call that a mistake on the studio’s part would be an understatement.
What we were left with were a series of brief clips of the Clown Prince of Crime which felt completely out of place, though if you look past that, Leto’s performance was pretty damn good. A very different version of The Joker to past iterations, Suicide Squad at least set the stage for him to return in a more significant role in Ben Affleck’s The Batman, and that at least is something well worth being excited about.
