Here’s How Daisy Ridley Could Look As Catwoman In The Batman

Now that Robert Pattinson has officially landed the titular role in The Batman, our attention turns toward who'll possibly round out the rest of the cast. The latest reports tell us that Penguin, Riddler, Catwoman, Firefly, Mad Hatter and Two-Face will accompany the Dark Knight, and we can only imagine how highly sought after those respective gigs will be.

Actually, it’s Catwoman who’s the focus of today’s conversation. Last we heard, Chloe Grace Moretz and Jodie Comer are in contention for the part, though Aubrey Plaza sounds game if the studio were to give her a call. And while I’m sure any one of those talented actresses have their own supporters, it’s someone else who’s gaining our attention for the moment.

Now, while I’m not necessarily good at fan-casting myself, Daisy Ridley of Star Wars fame is who I’m backing until someone else is hired for the job. Really, it wasn’t until I saw the fan art displayed below that I became a believer, as I now find her to be the perfect Selina Kyle. Thanks go to John Regan on Twitter for this beautiful piece.

If not Daisy Ridley – who’s already had Batgirl talk surrounding her, apparently –  then I’m at least hoping for Warner Bros. to retain a similar costume when the time comes. Though some fine talents have portrayed Catwoman over the years, I’ve yet to see what I’d dub the definitive version in live action. I mean, Anne Hathaway’s iteration in The Dark Knight Rises was closest character-wise, and Michelle Pfeiffer delivered an incredible performance in an iconic costume in Batman Returns, but I yearn for the perfect union that’d mirror what’s been found in comics, video games and animation.

The Batman arrives in theaters on June 25th, 2021. In the meantime, keep watching this space because more casting announcements for Gotham City’s rogues and other supporting characters are said to be imminent.
