Killing Eve Star Also On WB’s Wishlist For Catwoman In The Batman

With Robert Pattinson locked in as the titular vigilante, Warner Bros. will soon be hunting for who should face off against him in The Batman. Arguably the character that's getting the most interest is Catwoman, who's confirmed to be one of the six or seven villains who'll make Batsy's life a misery in Matt Reeves' movie. Various actresses have been linked to Selina Kyle, either because of fan casts, rumors or their own campaigns (see: Kristen Stewart, Vanessa Hudgens and Aubrey Plaza), but to date, there's been nothing official just yet.

Be that as it may, We Got This Covered has heard from our sources that Killing Eve star Jodie Comer is on the studio’s wishlist for the role. The British actress has made a name for herself as psychotic assassin Villanelle in the BBC America drama, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if she found success in Hollywood. It would certainly be a huge break for the star if she landed such a coveted role like this one, though.

To clarify, our source says that Comer is on WB’s wishlist for the part, so she’s just one of the actresses they’re thinking of seeing for Catwoman and that doesn’t mean she’s necessarily going to get the gig. For instance, we’ve also been informed that Kick-Ass star Chloe Grace Moretz is also on their radar for Selina. It’s worth noting though that Comer is 26 while Moretz is 22, so it seems WB is eyeing actresses in this age range.

Other villains confirmed to appear in the film include the Penguin and the Riddler, and WGTC has previously reported that the likes of Toby Jones, Toby Kebbell and Nicholas Hoult are being considered for the former, while Stanley Tucci and Hoult again are being looked at for the latter. Other foes to be cast are Two-Face, Mad Hatter and Firefly, though at the moment, we don’t have any names for who WB may be eyeing for those roles.

Hopefully we’ll find out soon, though, as The Batman is set to start production later this year before it hits theaters on June 25th, 2021.
