MCU Actor Being Eyed To Play The Riddler In The Batman

With Robert Pattinson locked in as the Dark Knight himself, DC fans are eager to see who director Matt Reeves will cast as his nemeses in The Batman. Uniquely, the movie is expected to feature a whole rogues gallery of villains, with at least six or seven said to be showing up. One of these who's all but confirmed to be involved is Edward Nygma/The Riddler, and here's one actor who could be in with a chance of playing him.

We Got This Covered has heard that Stanley Tucci is being eyed for the part of the Prince of Puzzles. We haven’t been told that he’s necessarily the favorite, but our source says he’s on the wishlist. Also on the same wishlist is Nicholas Hoult, who’s known to have been Pattinson’s runner-up in the casting process for Batman. Interestingly, prior info pointed to Hoult possibly being eyed for the Penguin as well. Clearly, Reeves is keen to get him on board in some form.

As for Tucci, he’s a slightly left-field choice for the Riddler, as he doesn’t exactly match the classic physical appearance of the character. However, you could have said the same about Heath Ledger as the Joker and look how that turned out. Tucci’s definitely a gifted actor though whose prolific career shows that he can play any sort of role. For instance, superhero fans will know him as Dr. Erskine, the kindly scientist in Captain America: The First Avenger.

The other villains that look set to feature in The Batman include the Penguin and Catwoman. We’ve also been among those who reported that Two-Face, Mad Hatter and Firefly will turn up, too. Not only that, but our source informs us that there could be yet more familiar foes in minor roles as well, as a surprise seventh antagonist (which could be Hush) may show up near the end of the film.

While we wait to learn more though, tell us, do you think Stanley Tucci would make a good Riddler in The Batman? If not, let us know your personal pick in the comments section below.
