Though the critics loathed Genisys, the series’ original creator was a really big fan of Alan Taylor’s reimagining of the source material. Yep, the acclaimed writer-director of The Terminator, Terminator 2, Aliens, Titanic and Avatar, fully endorsed Genisys and absolutely loved it, which is surprising as, on the whole, Iron Jim isn’t quick to heap praise upon new films (apparently, he pretty much hated the third and fourth Terminator flicks).

Finally, I’ll leave you with the iconic writer-director’s own feelings about the critically derided film. In an interview, James Cameron was asked about his thoughts on Terminator Genisys and his reply was simple yet effective: “If you like Terminator films, you’re going to love this movie.”

Enough said, right?
