Emma Watson Takes The Female Lead In Regression

Out of all the young actresses currently working in Hollywood, Emma Watson has got to be one of the most interesting and exciting. Having grown and matured significantly from her Harry Potter days, Watson has been a hot streak lately, choosing excellent films that act as a showcase for her undeniable talent in front of the camera. Perhaps more so than even Daniel Radcliffe, she's shown that she can do more than just wave a wand and chant spells.

Out of all the young actresses currently working in Hollywood, Emma Watson has got to be one of the most interesting and exciting. Having grown and matured significantly from her Harry Potter days, Watson has been on a hot streak lately, choosing excellent films that act as a showcase for her undeniable talent in front of the camera. Perhaps more so than even Daniel Radcliffe, she’s shown that she can do more than just wave a wand and chant spells.

Next month we’ll be seeing the actress in Darren Aronofsky’s Noah and now, she has picked her next project. Watson will be starring in Alejandro Amenábar’s thriller Regression for The Weinstein Company, which already has Ethan Hawke singed on.

With a script penned by the director himself, story details for Regression are being kept under wraps. Still, the involvement of this trio of talent is alone enough of a reason to start getting excited. As you probably know, Alejandro Amenábar is responsible not just for the horror film The Others, but also a truly incredible foreign film titled The Sea Inside, which put Javier Bardem on the map and earned a Best Foreign Film Oscar. So that, combined with Watson (who I may or may not have a huge crush on) and Hawke, who has been doing some strong work lately (let’s just forget about Getaway), should signal that we’re in for a treat here.

What do you think? Does Regression have the makings of a winner? Let us know in the comments section below.
