Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War Prelude #1, the official companion piece to 2018’s most-anticipated movie, has uncovered a treasure trove of new intel pertaining to Infinity War.

We’ve already caught wind of the Winter Soldier’s second coming and now, thanks to the folks over at CBM, below you’ll find a comic strip dedicated to Tony Stark, the MCU’s genius, billionaire, playboy, and philanthropist – although based on this extract, you can go ahead and add “Mr. Lonely” to the list of descriptors.

Haunted by the lasting effects of Civil War, Robert Downey Jr.’s Phase One Avenger is housed up in Stark HQ, where he deliberates over a new model – there’s also a cute nod to his Iron Spider suit, too. The text is admittedly a little hard to read, so we’ve included a transcription below:

“If I made the call, I’m sure Steve would answer. But will that be enough? Can’t think of it that way. If I’m gonna prepare for the end of all things…”

Of course, that’s not to say that he’ll be alone for the duration of the film. Although Stark doesn’t say much in the teaser – you know, aside from relaying Nick Fury’s famous speech – Robert Downey Jr.’s billionaire is placed in the company of Doctor Strange, Wong, and the Incredible Hulk, who appears to be still reeling from the events of Thor: Ragnarok.

A clash with Thanos is on the cards, too, as Infinity War‘s trailer showed our armored hero feeling the full wrath of the Mad Titan’s Infinity Gauntlet – and that’s before it’s reached maximum power as well.

So make no mistake, Iron Man will still have plenty to do in Avengers: Infinity War, and we’ll likely see more of Tony Stark in action later this evening when Marvel Canada premieres some new footage from the Joe and Anthony Russo ensemble piece. Chances are it’s a behind-the-scenes sizzle reel, but at this rate, we’ll take anything that brings together Earth’s Mightiest Heroes for what is undoubtedly the MCU’s biggest and most historic movie yet. And that’s before we even consider Avengers 4
