Ghost Rider

Here’s How Keanu Reeves Could Look As The MCU’s Ghost Rider

Keanu Reeves may have been around Hollywood for decades, but it sure does look like his popularity isn't cooling off anytime soon. In fact, one could say it's reignited in recent years. The Matrix Trilogy may be long behind us, sure, but the John Wick series and subsequent roles in Toy Story 4 and Cyberpunk 2077 have managed to further capture the interest of the veteran actor's fanbase.

Having said that, it’s no wonder he’s been sought for some sort of position in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Actually, Kevin Feige and company routinely ask Reeves to sign up, but he’s yet to comply. Still, hope springs eternal.

As you may have heard, True Believers far and wide have begun contemplating which Marvel character Keanu should play. Already, a petition has been started to have him suit up as Wolverine, though a case for having him as Namor was made by some impressive fan art. This time, though, it’s “BFHARTSANDSTUFF” sharing their vision of Ghost Rider on Reddit, which you can view below.

You probably noticed that Reeves is drawn up as the Johnny Blaze version of the character, but we’re not sure how that’ll fit in the grand scheme of the MCU itself. Though Nicolas Cage had originally inhabited the role for two films released by Sony, those obviously don’t factor into any of Disney’s plans.

In fact, the next time we’ll be seeing Ghost Rider in any form is most likely whenever the Hulu series debuts. But in that production, he’ll be played by Gabriel Luna. And even though fans got to know Luna as the Robbie Reyes iteration on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, it’s important to stress how that won’t connect to the upcoming show. We’ll have to first see how that all plays out, of course, but the door could still be left open for Keanu Reeves as Johnny Blaze.
