New Guardians Of The Galaxy Pics Include Ronan The Accuser And The Planet Knowhere

Marvel is continuing its media blitz for Guardians of the Galaxy today with seven new images, which feature familiar faces like Rocket Raccoon and Groot, along with less-known parts of the blockbuster, including villain Ronan the Accuser, the starship Milano and the space station Knowhere.

Early signs for the film indicate that audiences are in for a real treat. All of the trailers thus far have succeeded in striking a balance between furious action, enjoyable character moments and raucous humor, and the cast that director James Gunn has lined up is truly spectacular.

Chris Pratt leads the way as Star-Lord/Peter Quill, Zoe Saldana plays the green-skinned assassin Gamora, Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper are lending their voices to treelike being Groot and pint-sized hellion Rocket Raccoon (respectively), Dave Bautista will play muscle-bound warrior Drax, and Karen Gillan and Lee Pace are taking on the villainous roles of Nebula and Ronan. In more limited roles, Glenn Close is playing Nova Corps leader Nova Prime Rael, Djimon Hounsou is taking on the role of Korath the Pursuer and Benicio del Toro will reprise his role from Thor: The Dark World as the Collector.

Guardians of the Galaxy will arrive on August 1st – a date that truly can’t come soon enough.

From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team–the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits – Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon; Groot, a tree-like humanoid; the deadly and enigmatic Gamora; and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand – with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.
