9 Questions We Have After Watching Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has now made its way into cinemas in certain parts of the globe - with the US release to follow on May 5th - and so far, the movie has proved to be another barnstorming success for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with the sequel grossing roughly $100 million dollars internationally in its opening weekend. Admittedly, reviews have been a little more mixed than they were with the first film, but most can agree that it's an extremely worthy sequel to the 2014 instant classic.

6) Will Nebula Kill Thanos?

After being a secondary antagonist in Guardians of the Galaxy, Karen Gillan’s Nebula has a very different role in Vol. 2 as her and the Guardians eventually find themselves on the same side. Even when she initially allies with the Ravagers against Star-Lord’s team, she kind of has a good reason for it: she wants to kill her evil adoptive father Thanos.

Like Mantis and the rest of the Guardians, we know that Gillan will reprise the role of Nebula in Avengers: Infinity War. It’s got us wondering, then: will the slightly psychopathic cyborg fulfill her wish and be the one to murder the Mad Titan?

At first, this might seem like an outside chance. Surely the eventual defeat of Thanos will come thanks to a big team effort from the combined forces of the Avengers and Guardians, right? It seems likely, but Nebula is hugely important to “The Infinity Gauntlet” storyline in the comics. Spoiler warning: she manages to steal the Gauntlet from Thanos and banishes him.

Could something similar happen in the movies? Time will tell.
