9 Questions We Have After Watching Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has now made its way into cinemas in certain parts of the globe - with the US release to follow on May 5th - and so far, the movie has proved to be another barnstorming success for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with the sequel grossing roughly $100 million dollars internationally in its opening weekend. Admittedly, reviews have been a little more mixed than they were with the first film, but most can agree that it's an extremely worthy sequel to the 2014 instant classic.

2) When Will We Meet Adam Warlock?

While the other post-credits scenes were lots of fun, the one that will likely have the biggest impact on the future of the franchise is the one that features the Sovereign. It sees Elizabeth Debicki’s Ayesha reveal that she has created a new lifeform to take down the Guardians for her. As we see a golden incubation pod, she announces: “I think I shall call him… Adam.”

The connection to Ayesha, the golden cocoon and the name Adam all make clear that this sequence is a tease for the coming of Adam Warlock in a future movie. One of Marvel’s premier cosmic heroes, Warlock – also known as Him – has long been suspected to appear in the MCU as he has a prominent role in the Infinity Gauntlet storyline in the comics.

You would think, then, that this scene is setting up the character to appear in Avengers: Infinity War. However, the evidence points to this as a lead-in for Adam to make his first major role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Will the character still cameo in Infinity War or its sequel, though? We’ll have to wait and see.
