9 Questions We Have After Watching Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2

1) What Will The Soundtrack Be Like In Vol. 3?

One of the most important factors of the GotG franchise is its amazing soundtrack that’s full of classic throwback tracks. Cleverly, the music is a mix of digetic and non-digetic, as the songs can all be found in Peter’s “Awesome Mix” tapes given to him by his mother. The first movie’s music was drawn from the first tape and Vol. 2 even gets its title from the second tape.

The sequel, likewise, sets up the soundtrack for Vol. 3 by giving Peter a Zune MP3 player, which he hilariously thinks is the height of Earth technology. We learn that it contains 300 songs, which gives the next movie a massive musical scope to choose from.

As the Zune is from more recent times than the tapes from Peter’s childhood in the 1980s, it could mean that the flavour of music changes, as well, as modern songs could find their way onto the soundtrack. Whatever tunes are chosen for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, we have faith in James Gunn and his team to deliver another terrific soundtrack. Which will hopefully be the icing on the cake of an already terrific film.
