Jessica Chastain Is Reportedly In Talks To Join Iron Man 3
Deadline is reporting that Jessica Chastain is currently in talks to take a role in Iron Man 3. Though there is no name attached to the role Chastain is in talks for, it is described as “a sexy scientist every bit as smart as Tony Stark.”
Chastain was reportedly offered the role, but originally had to decline due to scheduling conflicts with Kathyrn Bigalow‘s Zero Dark Thirty and The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: His and Hers, which stars Joel Edgerton and Samantha Morton.
Apparently, Marvel then looked at Diane Kruger, Gemma Arterton and Isla Fisher for the part, but it now seems that Chastain is free with The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby having been pushed back.
Personally, I don’t really know why Chastain would do this. You would think that there would be far better films and roles that she would be getting offered at the moment, especially now that she’s backed out of Oblivion.
Iron Man 3, directed by Kiss Kiss Bang Bang director Shane Black, will also add Ben Kingsly and Guy Pearce to the Marvel family as villains.
Iron Man 3 starts filming next month and stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Ben Kingsly and Guy Pearce. It will be released on May 3rd, 2013.
