Marvel Reportedly Has Plans For Elsa Bloodstone In The MCU

So far, the MCU has explored a number of the different corners of the Marvel comics universe, from the street-level, to the cosmic, to the magical. One area that's a key part of the source material that's short on supply in the franchise, however, is the supernatural side of things. But this could be set to change in the next few years, if our intel's correct.

We Got This Covered has been informed that Marvel has plans to do something with Elsa Bloodstone in the MCU. The character isn’t a huge fan favorite, so she might seem like a strange choice to adapt, but she could prove the key to unlocking the more occult side of the universe. From what we understand, the studio has yet to decide whether to give her a movie or a Disney Plus TV series, but she’s definitely going to be making her way to the screen soon.

Created in 2011 by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning, Elsa is a young monster hunter who’s been known to work with the likes of Frankenstein’s Monster and Dracula to defeat the forces of darkness. In a way, you could call her Marvel’s answer to Buffy the Vampire Slayer and it’d certainly be a bit ironic if Elsa was introduced into the MCU after Buffy creator Joss Whedon previously directed the first two Avengers movies.

We already brought you the news that Kevin Feige is fighting to make a new Blade film starring Wesley Snipes, but apparently he’s facing competition as the folks at Marvel Television want to produce a Blade TV series for Hulu. Whichever side wins here though, it seems certain that we’re getting a lot more horror-themed MCU content in the coming years and Hulu’s upcoming Ghost Rider show, starring Gabriel Luna, could be the one to kick it all off.

As for Elsa Bloodstone, we’ll have to wait and see where she appears, but in the meantime, tell us, would you like to have her in the MCU? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section down below and be sure to stay tuned for further updates.
