Nato And Remy’s Last Stand: Horror’s Most Memorable Babies! D’awwww…

In keeping with the whole "evil horror babies" theme, Remy and I decided to look back on the horror genre and discuss our favorite, well, "evil horror babies." Some are zombies, some are demons - hell, some are even human! That's the power of the horror genre, taking those things that should represent happiness, and turning those smile-producing normalities into all that is unholy. Don't get me wrong, I'm in no way suggesting we should all act like Kyle Broflovski and "kick the baby," but if you were ever to kick any baby, it'd probably be one of these little buggers.

Nato – The Baby (Feast II: Sloppy Seconds)

Bonus Nato pick! I already had my four choices selected when I remembered this gem of a baby scene from Feast II: Sloppy Seconds. After writing all my previous entries, I just couldn’t justify leaving off John Gulager’s hilarious usage of a poor, defenseless baby in his schlockfest sequel to one of my favorite horror movies, Feast.

More times than not, if there’s a baby or child in a horror film, it’s a safe bet that they’ll be rescued somehow. John Gulager hates adhering to horror norms, which is exemplified in Feast when a young boy turns into monster chow rather early in the bar attack, but our director wasn’t happy stopping there, and neither were writers Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton. Oh no, not in the least, but how do you top watching a child being eaten and then vomited back at his mother? Kill a baby in the most depraved, insane, and satirically hilariously way possible.

Greg Swank (Tom Gulager) just wants to be the hero and get the girl, so when he hears the cries of a stranded baby amidst a town full of hungry creatures, Greg jumps into action. Leaving the safety of a secured rooftop, Greg makes his way to the street below, where he finds a small unattended baby whose family most likely had been torn to shreds. Completely intent on saving the baby’s life, Greg starts to make his way back to the rooftop, and that’s when the monsters start chasing him. Greg is faced with a choice, keep running with the giggling baby in his arms, or save his ass. Guess which one he chooses – video included for hilarity.

Are we missing any noteworthy babies who saw life because of the horror genre? Let us know your favorite horror babies in the comments section!
