Nato And Remy’s Last Stand: Horror’s Most Memorable Babies! D’awwww…

In keeping with the whole "evil horror babies" theme, Remy and I decided to look back on the horror genre and discuss our favorite, well, "evil horror babies." Some are zombies, some are demons - hell, some are even human! That's the power of the horror genre, taking those things that should represent happiness, and turning those smile-producing normalities into all that is unholy. Don't get me wrong, I'm in no way suggesting we should all act like Kyle Broflovski and "kick the baby," but if you were ever to kick any baby, it'd probably be one of these little buggers.

Remy – The Baby (Grace)

Sorry to throw another “pregnant Mom in car accident” movie at you, but the baby in Grace is a special kind of creepy. She “dies” inside her Mom during said car accident, and Mom decides to keep the baby. Not forever, mind you, but until she has made peace. Believe it or not, this is a thing some mothers do. We need to understand that people cope in different ways.

Anyway, I’ll skim all the fat and just tell you the good shit. Grace is pretty much a vampire baby who needs blood to stay alive. As you can imagine, this makes breast feeding a pretty disarming procedure, which this film plays off of wonderfully a few times.

The funny thing is, at the heart of it, this is a movie (as most of these on the list are) about the unwavering love a mother has for her child, regardless of that child’s, dare I say, imperfection?

Anyway, Grace is born, but needs blood to stay alive.

What would you do if your kid needed blood? I think the Mom in Grace does what most Moms would do. Thing is, at what point do you draw the line? Probably when you need to murder people to keep your baby alive and healthy.

Also, that final reference to Grace teething – man, that was awesome.
