Taika Waititi Hosts Hilarious Thor: Ragnarok Gag Reel

Marvel has released a hilarious gag reel for Thor: Ragnarok, which is hosted by the film's equally funny director, Taika Waititi.

The God of Thunder is headed to Blu-ray and DVD sooner than we initially thought.

Yes, after casting a spell over moviegoers, and over the box office, late last year, Thor: Ragnarok will officially make its way onto home video on March 6th – two weeks after its debut via Digital HD. Score one for Team Reddit.

Marvel’s hugely enjoyable threequel will arrive chock-full of special features, too, including deleted scenes, outtakes, and that hilarious one-shot featuring Thor’s decidedly average roommate, Darryl Jacobson (Daley Pearson). Entitled Team Darryl, the two-parter was originally rolled out last year, when Chris Hemsworth and Co. poked fun at Marvel’s decision to exclude the God of Thunder from Captain America: Civil War. Some wounds just never heal.

But circling back to those outtakes, and today brings forth a hilarious gag reel for the pic, hosted by none other than its director, Taika Waititi. Though only a few minutes in length, the focus is very much on the New Zealand filmmaker, with several cast members telling us how much fun they had on set with him as we get a look behind the scenes. All in all, it seems like Ragnarok was a great time for all involved and it’s easy to see why Waititi’s energy is so infectious.

If you like what’s presented here, you’ll be happy to know that this gag reel is just one of a whole handful of special features set to be included on the disc. As we alluded to above, there’s going to be a lot for fans to dig into, with Marvel detailing the whole package earlier today. All things considered, this release is shaping up to be a definite must buy and we can’t wait to get our hands on it.

Following its Digital HD debut on February 20th, Thor: Ragnarok is set to hop over onto Blu-ray and DVD on March 6th – three weeks after the arrival of Marvel’s Black Panther.
