Still pining for more Thor: Ragnarok content? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. After what’s been a busy week full of new posters, TV spots and more, Marvel is looking to keep the momentum going as they’ve now released two new featurettes that show off a bit of fresh footage from the threequel while also shining the spotlight on Cate Blanchett’s Hela.

Indeed, it’s Blanchett’s power-mongering nemesis who has stolen headlines left, right, and center over the past few months, and we can only hope that the Oscar-winning actress can bring some much-needed nuance to Marvel’s roster of supervillains. Yes, for all of the studio’s meteoric success in the past ten years, you’d struggle to name more than three or four antagonists that struck a chord with their audience, so it’ll be fascinating to watch how fans react to Hela in a few weeks’ time.

If nothing else, it certainly sounds like the Goddess of Death is about to put Thor through his paces. Stripped of his prized Mjölnir, the God of Thunder is all set to embark on a “journey of self-discovery,” as he cobbles together a team of reluctant heroes – namely Loki, Valkyrie and the Incredible Hulk – to restore Asgard to its former glory.

Perhaps equally as exciting as Blanchett being involved, though, is the man who’s behind the lens: Taika Waititi. Fresh off his acclaimed work on What We Do in the Shadows and Hunt For the Wilderpeople, he’s another example of Marvel siding with a relatively niche director to helm a big-budget blockbuster, but after being crowned as fall’s most-anticipated movie – ahead of Justice League, no less – all signs point to Ragnarok becoming yet another slam dunk for Taika Waititi and Marvel Studios.

It’ll help pave the groundwork for Avengers: Infinity War, too, after the film’s SDCC trailer revealed a rather wonderful exchange between the Guardians of the Galaxy and Chris Hemsworth’s God of Thunder. Expect further details on that crossover to be included in Ragnarok.

Featuring an “awesome” Stan Lee cameo and more spectacular visuals than you can shake Mjölnir atThor: Ragnarok is due to arrive on November 3rd.
