The news that Robert Pattinson is virtually locked in to be the next Caped Crusader has led to an avalanche of reports claiming who else might be circling Matt Reeves’ The Batman. One such rumor points to Vanessa Hudgens playing Catwoman opposite Pattinson’s Dark Knight. And as has been made evident by the various pieces of fan art floating around, it’s an idea that a lot of people can get behind.

Catwoman is already confirmed to be part of the movie, of course, as Reeves wants to pit the Bat against not one, not two but six of his greatest foes. The Penguin and Selina are apparently going to be the most prominent of the rogues gallery, with the Riddler as an additional antagonist as well. Bane and Scarecrow are also rumored to be showing up, while we’re still waiting on word on who the final villain may be.

Though Hudgens’ involvement is much less assured than Pattinson’s, that hasn’t stopped the actress from getting in on the fun. If you’ve been following her on Instagram, you may have seen some of her stories, where she’s been sharing fan art of herself as Catwoman while posting comments like “Okay. Who do I need to talk to make this happen lol #dreamrole”

Of course, just because both Hudgens and the fans are pushing for this to come to fruition, that doesn’t mean that it will. At the very least, though, we imagine that all this commotion has grabbed Warner Bros.’ attention and, who knows, they might just be eyeing her for the role.

In any case, we should know soon enough who’ll be bringing Selina Kyle to life, as The Batman is said to be shooting at the end of this year, with the film set to swoop into theaters on June 25th, 2021.
