Jason Momoa’s teenage son Nakoa-Wolf will play Timothée Chalamet’s character’s son in ‘Dune 3’ for his acting debut

Sixteen-year-old Nakoa-Wolf Momoa is set to follow in his father’s footsteps as he joins the cast of the upcoming Dune 3. The news was announced on Tuesday, June 17, marking the teenager’s first major role in a feature film.

According to People, a young actor, who is the son of Jason Momoa and his ex-wife Lisa Bonet, will take on the role of Leto II in the third installment of the science fiction franchise. He will play the son of Paul Atreides, portrayed by Timothée Chalamet, and Chani, played by Zendaya.

Jason Momoa’s teenage son Nakoa-Wolf will make his acting debut alongside his father, who is expected to return as Duncan Idaho, the resurrected ghola. The casting brings a real-life father-son dynamic to the film’s production.

According to reports, actress Ida Brooke has been cast as Ghanima, the on-screen twin sister of Nakoa-Wolf’s character. While Chalamet and Zendaya are expected to return for their roles, no formal casting announcement has been made yet.

Denis Villeneuve will continue his role as director for the third film. The new installment will adapt Frank Herbert’s second novel in the series, Dune Messiah, which takes place 12 years after the events of the first book.

The Dune franchise has already proven its success in the film industry. The first movie received 10 Oscar nominations and won six awards, including Best Original Score, Best Sound, Best Film Editing, Best Cinematography, Best Production Design, and Best Visual Effects.

The second film, Dune: Part Two, also made its mark at the 97th Academy Awards with five nominations, including Best Picture. It won two awards for Best Sound and Best Visual Effects, continuing the franchise’s strong presence in technical achievement categories.
