Mom orders for her family of 11 at McDonald’s drive-thru. The length of the order has the internet debating drive-thru etiquette

Which side are you on?

A TikTok video showing a woman ordering a massive amount of food for a family of 11 at a McDonald’s drive-thru has sparked a heated debate about what is actually appropriate when you are behind the wheel, Daily Dot reported.

The video, which has already racked up more than 475,000 likes, shows the customer placing a lengthy order that has people arguing over whether the drive-thru is the right place for such a request. The woman who shared the clip, @Mercedeslynnnn8, defended her decision with a caption that stated, “This was just easier!”

She started by requesting eight McDouble meal deals, specifying that all of them should be medium-sized. She also asked for ranch and ketchup on the side, along with an orange Hi-C to accompany each of the eight meals. To make things even more complicated for the kitchen staff, she requested that six of those eight burgers be prepared without pickles and onions. She finished off the request by adding a Filet-O-Fish meal, which also included an orange Hi-C. The final total for the entire order came to $61.30.

The order is quite extensive as you can tell from the list

The internet was quick to weigh in on her methods. A significant number of viewers felt that she should have utilized the McDonald’s app to handle such a large request instead of holding up the drive-thru line. One person commented, “Please use the app for large orders.” Another user took issue with the specific modifications she requested for the sandwiches, writing, “They got the nerve to customize the f— burgers.”

It is pretty common for people to get frustrated when they are stuck behind a massive order, but the comment section really highlights the ongoing tension between customer convenience and the workload placed on fast-food employees.

Despite the backlash in the comment section, the video does not actually show that the staff had any trouble putting the order together. The employees did not object to her requests, and she successfully placed the entire order at the speaker box without any reported pushback from the restaurant.

We could not independently verify the events stated in the TikTok video, as we could not pinpoint which particular McDonald’s location the woman went to. The details of the report are solely based on the video uploaded by @mercedeslynnnn8.
