Forget ‘Sailor Moon,’ move over ‘Moon Knight,’ say hello to Sailor Moon Knight

One cosplayer tries out a winning combination merging the worlds of 'Sailor Moon' and 'Moon Knight' together.

Never underestimate the skill or ingenuity of cosplayers. These are fans that love to delve into the worlds they love so much and pride themselves on creating as accurate a look as possible, turning themselves into their favorite characters. In one cosplayer’s case though, a little creative license was applied, and thus an amazing combo was born. Behold, Sailor Moon Knight!

Unless you have been living under a rock, we think you would all have a good mental image in your mind if we were to say Sailor Moon. The cult anime classic from the 90s was one of the first anime to receive true global recognition. The characters have distinctive looks which have gone on to become iconic in their own right, even utilized by musicians such as Megan Thee Stallion who recently dressed up as the character for her Tokyo show last year, thus proving the enduring appeal of the character.

Then we have Moon Knight, a character adapted from the Marvel comics for the screen in 2022. The character was played by Oscar Isaac, and also has a very distinctive look… well two distinctive looks. The costume was incredible and was made up of 803 pieces in total. Not something that can be easily replicated at all, so a welcome challenge for cosplayers with some spare time on their hands.

One cosplayer, Lisa Mancini, got a little creative recently and posted a picture of herself dressed up as a combination of these two characters to phenomenal effect.

Here we see how she merged the two together, keeping the hair and headdress from the anime character whilst working in the weapon and bandages that are worn by the Marvel hero. The final effect is truly stunning and we have to give props to Mancini for her creativity and skill shown here. We love the other little touches such as the contacts worn that really set off the entire look.
