‘Oh we’re suing right?’: Mother left shaken after stranger simply walks into nursery and leaves with her daughter

A mother has been left deeply concerned for her daughter’s safety after she claimed that a man, who she did not know, was able to enter the building, walk right in, pick up her daughter, and walk out with her without anyone noticing. The mother shared her story on TikTok where she explained that nursery staff called her to inform her that a man had taken her daughter.

Mother and beauty app CEO Jody Riley claimed that a stranger, who was apparently the grandfather of another child, went into her daughter’s nursery and took her daughter without staff noticing. While Jody says her daughter was brought back to the nursery, she’s still uneasy “I haven’t slept a wink,” she says in the video. No doubt the thoughts of what could have happened weigh heavy on her mind.

“None of it’s making sense,” Jody states, explaining that the man had to go through two security doors, down some stairs, then up some stairs, through another door, pick up Jody’s daughter while she slept, bring her out to his car, strap her in, and drive away. The man was reportedly gone for ten minutes.

Jody has some questions

Thankfully either the man or the nursery realized what had happened and Jody’s daughter was returned but the whole experience has rightfully raised some serious concerns over her daughter’s safety. The man made it pretty far without being challenged by a single member of staff. Had he been someone with bad intentions he was very easily able to slip in and simply take a child without anyone noticing.

“I can’t piece my head around how it’s happened,” Jody commented. The mother described having a “little taste” of “every parent’s worst nightmare” when she received the call which she described as “disgusting.” The mystery over what happened only deepened after Jody received an update from the nursery which didn’t match the initial story she was told.

In a second video she explained that the grandparent wasn’t told his granddaughter was in the garden on the other side of the building. However, the real concerning part comes when video evidence supposedly showed the man waking up Jody’s daughter before picking her up. Two members of staff also apparently came and helped the man pick her up and apparently recognized it was Jody’s daughter as they verbally called out her name.

Different stories

This doesn’t match the initial story that Jody had been told which suggested the man didn’t realize it wasn’t his granddaughter as he would have heard her name being called out. It also raised questions over why staff didn’t intervene.

Jody called out the “major safeguarding issues” at the nursery and viewers suggested getting a lawyer. “Oh we’re suing right?” asked one person who agreed with Jody’s concerns regarding the practices at the nursery.

Jody also stated that she had tried to contact the man and his family, hoping they would get some answers, but almost a week later there has been no response. Jody also confirmed that police were now involved under “suspicious activity.”
