Texas high school girl charges Tesla. Then a man stops and takes pictures: ‘You must be very cold’

A Texas high school student and TikTok creator says a routine stop to charge her Tesla turned into a frightening encounter that left her worried about her safety and questioning the intentions of a stranger who approached her in a parking lot.

Ryane Roy (@ryane.rr) shared the story in a viral TikTok video that has drawn roughly 215,000 views. Roy has built a significant social media following, with more than 1 million followers, where she regularly posts lifestyle and influencer content.

He asked to photograph her pink Tesla

In the video, Roy said she had stopped at a Tesla charging station while driving home because her battery was nearly depleted. She said she had her puppy with her and stepped away from the vehicle briefly so the dog could use a nearby grassy area.

Roy explained that a man then called out to her and asked whether he could photograph her pink Tesla. “And I was like, yeah, of course, whatever,” Roy said, explaining that strangers have asked to photograph the vehicle before because of its unusual color.

She said the man began taking “multiple pictures” of the car “from, like, all angles,” which she initially dismissed as odd but harmless.

Then he commented on her ‘tiny little outfit’

The interaction escalated once she returned to her vehicle, she said. “He rolls down his window, and he asked me, he goes, ‘You must be cold in that tiny little outfit of yours,’” Roy recalled.

Roy said she had been wearing a sweatshirt and pajama shorts because of the cold, rainy weather. The man then began discussing his move from the Florida Keys and telling her she should “come work with him,” according to the video. At that point, Roy said she attempted to make her age clear.

“So naturally, I’m like, ‘I’m in high school,’” she said. According to Roy, the man continued the conversation and made a comment that alarmed her. “Now I know where you are at all times because of the color of your car,” Roy said he told her.

She said her dog immediately began barking and growling at the stranger, something she claimed rarely happens. “And then that’s when I started getting, like, actually scared,” Roy said.

Then he asked for a photo

The creator said the man later asked to take a photo with her, which she initially agreed to because her followers often ask for pictures. But she said the encounter became more uncomfortable when the man allegedly attempted to move closer to her while posing.

“He tries to, like, put his arm around me,” Roy said. “And he just keeps, like, leaning in closer and closer.” Roy also said the man told her he would “tag” her in the picture online, despite never asking for her social media information.

After getting back into her Tesla, Roy said the man remained parked nearby for about 20 minutes despite his car no longer charging. “I had no other option but to wait,” she said, explaining her battery was too low to leave immediately.
