Tuscaloosa women wake up after a night out and check their living room. Then they find a shirtless man asleep on their couch: ‘Who are you, bro?’

He woke up, and headed out without explaining himself

A group of young women in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, said they returned home after a night out and discovered an unfamiliar man sleeping on their living room couch. The footage was shared on TikTok by the account @avocadoass0 and has drawn more than twenty-four million views.

In the video, one of the women is heard asking the man, “Who are you, bro?” The caption on the post reads, “Does anyone know who this is by chance? Gotta be original experience, never thought I’d wake up to a stranger on our couch but I guess gameday got him.”

The clip opens with Snapchat messages in which the roommates discuss the unexpected guest. One message reportedly states, “guys there is a guy on our couch.” Other texts in the group chat appear to ask who left the door open.

The footage shows the man waking and the women later questioning him from a car

The camera moves down a staircase into the living room, where a person is visible asleep on a grey couch under a blue blanket. A blonde woman in a white T-shirt and shorts is seen standing at the top of the stairs before she walks down while filming.

The sleeping person stirs and sits up. He is a young man with curly blonde hair who is shirtless at that moment. On-screen text appears that reads “HELLO??” as he looks around.

The man is later shown wearing a purple T-shirt and light shorts as he walks toward the front door and opens it. Ring doorbell footage included in the clip shows him standing outside and running a hand through his hair. He is then seen walking back inside before turning around and leaving the house again. Unwanted guests do not always leave so quickly, as one man learned when food mysteriously vanishing from his kitchen led police to a closet.

The women get into a car and drive alongside the man as he walks down the sidewalk. One of them is heard yelling through the window, “Excuse me! Why the f–k were you on our couch?” She continues, “Who are you? How did you end up on our couch? Say your name.”

As the man keeps walking with his hands raised, the woman adds, “Tell us how you got in our house. Tell us. Walk all the way home. We’re going to follow you, figure out who you are.” She is then heard asking again, “Why were you on our couch? Who are you? Are you- who are you, bro?” The man continues walking with his hands up as the video ends.

Viewers left mixed reactions under the post. One commenter noted that the door had apparently been left unlocked and suggested the man could have been drunk and entered by mistake. They wrote, “Why are you guys just following him you left the door UNLOCKED. And he couldve been drunk and stumbled in thinking it was his house.”

Another commenter urged the women to contact police next time. They wrote, “Ladies this is hilarious but please next time call the cops.” A separate commenter pushed back on those defending the man. They wrote, “Yall defending him as if this is not a strange unknown man in THEIR house?” Concerns about safety around strangers are common, and another Alabama woman recorded a man watching her in a separate incident.

One viewer referenced a past criminal case while questioning the decision to follow the man. They wrote, “Did y’all not learn from Brian Kohberger.” Another commenter questioned the tone of the confrontation. They wrote, “Why are u being so mean to him tho.”
