A TikTok creator named Brenna Lehrke tried Dunkin’s new Rocket Pop Donut and warned her followers to stay away from it. Her video, posted under the handle @brennalehrke, shows her inside a Dunkin’ store and breaking open the donut to show what’s inside.
The caption of her video reads, “Save urself please,” along with hashtags calling out the donut by name and telling people not to buy it. In the on-text screen of the video, she revealed that the donut tastes “like melted crayons.”
Her post has sparked reactions from other people who have tried the same donut, with some agreeing with her and others saying they enjoyed it.
The Rocket Pop Donut is part of a larger summer menu rollout
Lehrke’s video opens inside a Dunkin’ store, showing a display case with different donuts. The Rocket Pop Donuts are shown 360 calories each, covered in blue and red frosting with white star sprinkles. Other donuts, including Glazed Blueberry Munchkins, are also visible in the case.
On screen, Lehrke writes, “This is the new donut at Dunkin. It tastes like melted crayons. I genuinely don’t know how it made it thru production. I almost threw up at 6 am when I tried it.” A song plays in the background with the lyrics, “I need my Dunkin’ Donuts! I’m about to place my order!”
The video then shows a close-up of the donut broken in half on a white surface. The inside looks like a regular plain donut under the heavy blue and red frosting and star sprinkles. This isn’t the first time a Dunkin’ order has left a customer stunned; another woman recently found something inside her Wake-Up Wrap she couldn’t believe.
According to Parade, the Rocket Pop Classic Donut is a yeast donut filled with cherry, lime, and raspberry flavored buttercream, topped with blue icing and a stars and stripes sprinkle blend. The flavor is reportedly based on the Bomb Pop, a rocket-shaped frozen ice pop that first came out in 1955 and is known for its red, white, and blue colors and cherry, lime, and blue raspberry flavors.
The donut is part of Dunkin’s 2026 summer menu, which became available at participating locations nationwide on June 3, 2026. The same menu reportedly includes a Barbie-themed drink topping called Barbie Pink Strawberry Cold Foam, along with new savory items like the Golden BBQ Hash Brown Wake-Up Wrap and Golden BBQ Loaded Hash Browns.
Reactions to the donut have also appeared on Reddit, in a thread posted to the r/DunkinDonuts community. The original poster in that thread gave the donut a 1 out of 10 rating, writing that the filling was “overly sweet and had a very chemical tasting aftertaste.” Dunkin’ orders going viral for unexpected reasons isn’t new either. One customer was recently left confused after an employee handed her something like a toilet plunger with her drink.
Several people in the Reddit comments agreed that the donut was too sweet or did not taste good. One commenter wrote, “Tastes like MEDICINE legit.” Another said, “It reminds me of the fluoride at the dentist…” A different commenter described it as “a sour popsicle cream puff.”
One user, who said they work at Dunkin’, wrote that the donut is “not selling at all at my store” and that employees are “forced to buy and carry it.” Not everyone in the thread had a negative reaction. One commenter wrote, “I loved it.” Another said, “I liked it, I think you’re being over dramatic.” A different user wrote, “I liked it a lot and my 16 year old son loved it!”
On Lehrke’s TikTok video, some commenters said they had tried the donut themselves and enjoyed it. One person wrote, “It’s one of my favorite donuts haha. I drink it with black coffee, so I don’t experience the same sugar overload.”
Another said, “took home a couple after my shift today, was pretty good but yeah overly sweet. i like how mine are star shaped, it made it more fun to eat.” A third commenter disagreed, writing, “Listen I am not picky about my sweets but I could not finish this, or even eat half. It was really not good.”
The flavor of the filling also came up in the comments. One person wrote, “someone said the filling tastes like fruit punch??? no thank yewwww.” Lehrke responded, “I can’t even remember what it taste like but the texture and waxy a– feeling in ur mouth.”
