A TikTok creator claims a man she met on Tinder lied about a “car giveaway” road trip that allegedly turned into a furry convention getaway involving another woman staying in his hotel room.
In a series of viral videos, creator Lauraaints—tt (@Lauraaints—tt) detailed what she described as a whirlwind romance that quickly unraveled after her new boyfriend traveled to Atlanta for what he initially described as a work-related trip. “I have a story time for you guys today that you guys are going to find absolutely unbelievable,” she said in one clip.
According to Lauraaints—tt, the pair met on Tinder after she returned to the dating app following a previous relationship. She said the man, whom she referred to as “Tyler,” appeared thoughtful and caring despite showing up three hours late to their first date after allegedly oversleeping.
The relationship progressed quickly. By the third date, she said, the two were talking daily and had made their relationship official.
Then he admitted he’s a furry
Shortly afterward, the man told her he would be traveling with a friend to pick up a giveaway car for YouTube-related content. Lauraaints—tt said he initially told her the trip destination was Chicago before later changing the location to Atlanta. She said she asked him to share his location and keep in contact during the drive.
Things became suspicious, she claimed, after he allegedly disappeared for about 12 hours upon arriving at the hotel. When he resurfaced, Lauraaints—tt said he admitted the trip was actually connected to a furry convention in Atlanta. “I’m a furry, and I’m at a convention for furries,” she recalled him saying.
The furry fandom is a subculture centered around anthropomorphic animal characters. Many participants create animal personas known as “fursonas,” attend conventions, and wear elaborate costumes called fursuits. While some outsiders associate the fandom with adult themes, many community members describe it as a creative and social hobby focused on art, performance, and friendship.
Then came the mirror selfies
Lauraaints—tt said she initially tried to remain open-minded about the revelation but became increasingly uncomfortable as communication reportedly became less frequent during the trip.
Her suspicions intensified after he allegedly sent mirror selfies from the hotel room. “There’s a yellow claw clip in the background of one of his pictures,” she said. “Not only is there a yellow claw clip, but there is a pink leopard print toiletry travel case.” The man allegedly insisted he was sharing the room only with a male friend.
Later, during a phone call on the drive home, Lauraaints—tt said she confronted him again and asked him to FaceTime her from inside the car because she felt something was off.
According to her account, he eventually admitted that a female friend had been staying in the hotel room throughout the weekend.
PSA: Look out for Homie Birdie, furry girls
In a follow-up TikTok directed at attendees of Furry Weekend Atlanta in Georgia, Lauraaints—tt publicly called out the unidentified woman she believed was involved.
“This is a PSA for whoever was at Furry Weekend in Atlanta, Georgia last weekend,” she said. “If you hung out with a guy who goes by Homie Bird or Homie Birdie, whose character is a red bird, he had a girlfriend he does not need anymore.” She added, “You can have him. He is all yours.”
Lauraaints—tt also referenced the same items she claimed appeared in the hotel photos. “I saw your yellow claw clip, and I saw your pink leopard print toiletry bag hanging up in one of the pictures he sent me,” she said. By the end of the story, the creator said the experience had shattered her trust. “This will be the last time I give my trust to someone,” she said. “You guys can’t make this s—t up.”
