Troubling rumours at one point claimed the series was being scrapped by Marvel and Netflix, though the TV division's head honcho Jeph Loeb was quick to deny that last year.

Liam Hemsworth being cast in a superhero movie is something that’s long overdue, and while there are plenty of DC Comics roles he’d be well suited for, he would be great to see him follow his brother into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

After making a name for himself in The Hunger Games movies and being by far the best thing about The Expendables 2, a comic book film feels like a natural next step.

Despite not being a huge star, he has a high enough profile to bring a lot of new eyes to Iron Fist, while he also just so happens to be every bit as likeable as broth Chris. With action movie credentials aplenty, Hemsworth has the look and build to make for a very convincing Iron Fist in this series.
