10 Awesome Moments From The Westworld Season 1 Finale

The first season of HBO's sci-fi western smash hit Westworld has now come to an end with the feature-length finale, titled 'The Bicameral Mind'. As was promised by showrunners Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, it answered pretty much all of the questions that have been plaguing us over the past ten weeks - from the identity of the Man in Black to the truth about the Maze - as well as opening up some new ones that will bug us until it returns to our screens in 2018. The result was probably the show's most exciting episode so far, and one that leaves us the future of the show wide open.

The whole season we’ve been waiting for Dolores to wake up to the hell that is Westworld and become her own person. In the finale, she at last develops beyond hearing Arnold in her head and seems to finally achieve consciousness. Unfortunately, her new persona is someone who’s ready to commit mass murder to gain freedom.

After beating her demons, Dolores finds her way to the centre of Arnold’s fabled maze and achieves consciousness – as portrayed by seeing visions of herself rather than her creator. She at last understands who she needs to become. She needs to accept the Wyatt part of herself and become a killer once again.

It’s a shocking twist, one that looks to place Dolores as the unlikely leader in the possible human/host war. What’s for sure is that Westworld won’t be the same after this finale, and we can’t wait to see what happens next.

Speaking of which….
