3) Dexter – “Remember The Monsters?”

Everyone knows that Dexter’s glory days disappeared around about season four, but we still hoped that the eighth season’s final episode could pull it back from the brink and send the show off in style. All it had to do was address the question of can Dexter stop his murdering ways and live a normal life?

Naturally, it did not only fail to do this but it also managed to be completely unsatisfying in every single way. For inexplicable reasons, Dexter has some sort of character transplant as he fakes his death, abandons his child and turns into a lumberjack.

“Remember the Monsters?” is simply a spectacularly awful wrapping-up of a series, and acts as a lesson to showrunners everywhere; don’t chuck out logic and consistency of character for the sake of a hurried conclusion.
