10 Characters We Wish The Vampire Diaries Would Have Brought Back

It's been an entire summer since The Vampire Diaries left fans with their collective jaws on the floor after the heartbreaking season five finale. Now that we've had some time to grieve, and realize that Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) are not gone for good thanks to executive producer Julie Plec confirming that both actors are contracted as series regulars for season six, it's time to celebrate the return of fan favorite Alaric Saltzman (Matt Davis).

2) Brady (Stephen Amell)

Brady is sort of an unfair choice since we know full well that Stephen Amell won’t be making any guest appearances on The Vampire Diaries, so long as his own hit CW show, Arrow (which we love!), is still on the air, but he did add some much appreciated eye candy to the mix. Besides his good looks, he was also a complex character, whose motives were left somewhat unexplored.

After Mason Lockwood was killed, his former Florida pack – led by Jules (Michaela McManus) – made their way to Mystic Falls. Originally they were just under the impression that he was missing, but it soon turned into a gigantic revenge plot when they realized he was dead that involved plans to take out all of the main characters (obviously that was never going to go well). When Brady came after Stefan and Elena, he was met with a fist through his chest and a missing heart. A familiar story on this sordid show.

Under different circumstances, Brady’s penchant for torture may have come in handy, and he and Damon might have even found some common ground.
