After wowing audiences in last year’s Daredevil season 2, Jon Bernthal is back as Frank Castle in his own solo spinoff vehicle The Punisher, the latest product of the Marvel/Netflix union (which will likely come to an end soon). How exactly does it measure up to its predecessors, though?
Well, while it doesn’t hit the heights of Daredevil season 1 or Jessica Jones, The Punisher is still another worthy addition to this corner of the MCU. As you might expect from a show about a vigilante who prefers a gun and a bullet-proof jacket instead of superpowers and masks, The Punisher is by far the most removed from the comic book world of these series. In fact, Frank Castle doesn’t even wear his iconic skull emblem for most of the 13 episode season.
