10 Easter Eggs You Might Have Missed In The Defenders

After two years and five seasons of television, Marvel’s The Defenders is finally here. The eight episode miniseries unites the stars of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist for the first time. Naturally, it also follows in the footsteps of those shows by featuring a lot of tantalizing easter eggs, references and callbacks.

Mostly, these are allusions to the comics books, as the heroes we see here have decades’ worth of adventures on the page for the writers to mine. Sometimes, though, the show slips in a nod to other famous movies, TV shows and music. Plus, a lot of the time The Defenders includes easily-missed connections to the series that have led up to this point.

For instance, the show features a couple of easter eggs that have been seen in each of the Marvel-Netflix efforts so far. Namely, the now traditional reference to “The Incident,” the name given to the Chitauri Invasion of New York that occurred in The Avengers. Another is Stan Lee’s cameo as a police officer featured in a poster. Here, Lee’s face appears on the street in episode 3, “Worse Behavior.”

The following 10 easter eggs, though, would only have been noticed by the most hardcore of fans. Read on and see how many of them you were able to spot, and as always, if we missed one, be sure to let us know by dropping a comment.
