The 10 Best Superhero TV Moments Of 2016

Superhero movies might have received a mixed reception in 2016, but comic book television has never been better. Both Marvel and DC expanded their respective shared universes outwards this past year and in just about every case, superhero TV shows reached a good balance between pilfering from the comic books and adapting the material to best fit the new medium. Series like Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl finally found their feet, others like Arrow got back on track and those like The Flash and Daredevil continued their winning streaks.

Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk stole the show away from Charlie Cox’s Man Without Fear in season 1 of Daredevil, becoming perhaps the best villain in the whole of the MCU (except Loki, of course). It was a welcome surprise, then, when he returned in the latter half of season 2.

Though he’s locked up in Ryker’s Island, Fisk has managed to rise up to the top of the food chain and become, well, the Kingpin. When Matt pays him a visit to question him about Frank Castle, Kingpin flips out at his old enemy. Smashing his head on the table, he threatens to destroy the lives of both the men (Matt and Foggy) who put him in jail.

A terrific, tense moment, this scene demonstrates both the physical power of Fisk and his criminal prowess. When he threatens Matt’s life, you know this guy isn’t joking. Plus, if this sequence is anything to go by, season 3 will adapt seminal storyline “Born Again” – something we look forward to seeing.
