7 Horror Shows You Must Watch This Halloween

It's only been a year since random teenagers last egged your house and no, that's not because you've moved to a nicer part of town. Halloween is upon us again, that one time of the year when wearing slutty clothes isn't frowned upon and a horror movie binge becomes mandatory.

Jamie Lee Curtis won a plethora of fans for her iconic role in the Halloween franchise, so when the original scream queen decided to take on a new horror project, the world sat up and took notice.

Scream Queens is the latest brainchild of Ryan Murphy, the man behind hit shows such as Glee and American Horror Story. Anticipation was high for the show’s premiere, although these days, Murphy’s work has become quite divisive, so it’s fortunate that Curtis joined the project when she did.

The series is set two decades after a mysterious death takes place at Wallace University, just as a new spate of murders rocks the student body. At the centre of the investigation is Chanel Oberlin (Emma Roberts), a hideously self-centred bitch who oversees the most popular sorority, Kappa House.

Despite mixed reviews, Scream Queens deserves a place in your weekly viewing schedule. The show’s unique blend of comedy, horror and mystery develops each episode as cast members are killed off on a weekly basis. It’s impossible to tell who will die next and the identity of the killer (s!?) is anyone’s guess at this point.

Some may be put off by the excessively gory violence and politically incorrect humour, but those who like their boundaries pushed in their weekly TV viewing will find lots to enjoy in Scream Queens… and even if that’s not your thing, there’s more than enough eye candy to pull you through each 45 minute episode.
