7 Horror Shows You Must Watch This Halloween

It's only been a year since random teenagers last egged your house and no, that's not because you've moved to a nicer part of town. Halloween is upon us again, that one time of the year when wearing slutty clothes isn't frowned upon and a horror movie binge becomes mandatory.

The word ‘underrated’ is thrown around with alarming regularity these days. That album by George Ezra which sold over a million copies is ‘underrated.’ That awesome Keanu Reeves movie John Wick has developed a cult following and a sequel has been confirmed, but it’s still ‘underrated.’ These cheese flavoured chips are ‘underrated.’ Of course, this is 100% subjective, but hypocritically, I’m going to go out on a limb now and throw that label around myself by suggesting that iZombie really is the most underrated show on TV.

Based on a DC Vertigo comic book, iZombie follows medical resident Liv Moore, who is transformed into a zombie and needs to eat brains to retain her personality. Fortunately, Liv quickly takes a job as a mortician to avoid a Romero style undead apocalypse. What sets iZombie apart from other shows of its ilk is that when Liv eats the brains of people who have died, she inherits aspects of their personality, experiencing flashbacks which helps her and the police solve their murders.

Zombies and comic books… that’s a winning combination, right? Well, iZombie has developed an extremely loyal fanbase, but comparisons to other quirky, quick-witted shows like Veronica Mars and Pushing Daisies have me worried, as these were cancelled far too early. The viewing figures for iZombie are not as high as I would like, despite the unique combination of horror and sleuthing. Binge watch the first season ASAP and then switch on to the new episodes that only started airing this month. We can’t lose yet another fantastic show to the gods of TV ratings.
