Black Flash

One of the most unexpected twists in The Flash‘s season two finale was Zoom’s transformation into the Black Flash. Easy to miss on a first viewing, look again and you’ll notice that the ear pieces on his mask and the logo on his chest have now been transformed into the exact same one that the character has in the comics.

A Dark Aspect of the Speed Force, the Black Flash fulfills the role of death to speedsters within the DC Universe, returning them to the Speed Force, and he’s neither a hero nor a villain. It’s going to be interesting then to see what kind of role he ends up playing in the show; will whatever’s left of Hunter Zolomon want revenge against Barry, or is he simply going to become a recurring presence tasked by the Speed Force to take one of the show’s speedsters?
