8 More Heroes Who Should Show Up In DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow

With Arrow and The Flash introducing so many new characters, it was inevitable that a spinoff would eventually be launched. While it initially looked like The Atom (Brandon Routh) would be getting his own series, fans were shocked when DC's Legends of Tomorrow was announced. Assembling some of the best heroes and villains from both shows (as well as introducing a few new ones), Legends of Tomorrow will launch in early 2016 and pits the ragtag group against the immortal villain, Vandal Savage. Led by time traveller Rip Hunter, the "Legends of Tomorrow" are expected to travel through time and to alternate realities as they try to bring down this mysterious and dangerous foe (who will be introduced in the upcoming Arrow/The Flash crossover). It's really The Flash which opened the door to this series becoming a reality of course, as its first seasons did what many thought was impossible when it made a complicated time travel plot something that even non-comic book readers could fully embrace. With that show now fully running with the concept of alternate universes, it feels appropriate that Legends of Tomorrow is actually going to in some ways pick up where that left off. Plenty of other heroes and villains are expected to be introduced over the course of the series - one very interesting recent addition is Connor Hawke - but who else should show up? Whether we're talking about cameos, one off appearances, or new members of the Legends of Tomorrow team, these eight heroes all need to factor into The CW series in some way. Whether or not they'll happen remains to be seen, of course, but it would be a massive disappointment if the show fails to bring this lot in. 8) Jim Gordon Looking at the current slate of DC Comics TV shows, Gotham is in many ways the odd one out. Despite focusing on Batman's early years, the series is light on superpowers and has frequently struggled to stick to a tone, veering wildly between Batman and Robin and The Dark Knight territory. However, there's a lot to like about this police procedural set in Gotham City, and it would be a lot of fun to see Jim Gordon and Harvey Bullock meet up with the heroes and villains of Legends of Tomorrow. This dynamic duo have seen a lot of weird stuff, and a time travelling, dimension hopping group like this would definitely throw their world into chaos, but this could still work as a one off. What would be really great is if there was some sort of mention of Batman, but seeing as he seems to be off limits to these TV shows, that could be too much to hope for. Maybe we could get a glimpse of him in the future similar to how Supergirl has handled Superman? That's not asking for too much, is it? 7) The Arrow No, not that Arrow. The latest episode of The Flash featured an Earth-2 flashback which revealed that Robert Queen became The Arrow in that reality, which is an interesting new dynamic for the vigilante that would be very interesting to explore in Legends of Tomorrow. Of course, that same flashback revolved around him being arrested, so the team would need to probably break him out of jail. Including the Earth-1 Oliver here as a guest-star would be cool as he would (sort of) be reunited with his father, but that's not a necessity. Instead, someone like Sara explaining to Robert that his son is alive and a superhero on another world would offer some great emotional material to explore. 6) Zatanna Season four of Arrow has introduced the concept of magic to this corner of the DC Universe, so bringing a character like Zatanna into the quite science heavy team from Legends of Tomorrow would add a fascinating new dynamic (especially in regards to how she'd interact with the resurrected Sara Lance and the mystical Hawkman and Hawkgirl). Zatanna is a powerful magician who casts spells by speaking backwards and splits her time between being a stage performer and superhero, and while the possibility of her taking on a leading role in the Justice League Dark movie may reduce the chances of this happening, not including her would be a missed opportunity. 5) Aquaman Another recent Earth-2 Easter Egg in The Flash came from Jay Garrick when he mentioned that he'd paid a visit to Atlantis. That's obviously a nod to Aquaman, and it gives Legends of Tomorrow a unique opportunity to visit that iconic location and hopefully introduce a small screen take on the character. With Jason Momoa playing the King of Atlantis in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, you may think that limits the chances of this happening, but not if the show goes in a vastly different direction with how they handle his personality and appearance (which should be easy enough as this version hails from Earth-2). As a one off appearance, this could work perfectly. 4) Green Lantern There have been numerous nods to Hal Jordan in Arrow and The Flash over the past couple of years, and his iconic jacket was even glimpsed in a recent episode of the former. With years to go until the Green Lantern reboot, you'd think that all of this might be building to Warner Bros. trying to win over sceptical moviegoers by re-introducing them to the character on the small screen first, but there's no indication of that being the case. If the well-known Green Lanterns are off limits, bringing in the Alan Scott version (who has no affiliation to the Green Lantern Corps) might be the way to go. He'd certainly make for a fantastic addition to Legends of Tomorrow's team. 3) Reverse-Flash Ok, so he's not a hero, but with villains like Captain Cold and Heat Wave set to play a key role in Legends of Tomorrow, why can't Eobard Thawne show up? After all, the season one finale of The Flash made it clear that he has history with both Rip Hunter and the Earth-2 Flash, so him being plucked out of time to help out the team at some point could work brilliantly, especially if it somehow leads to him being able to make a return in The Flash down the line. Regardless of whether this is the Wells or Thawne version of Reverse-Flash (the latter would be fun), watching him interact with the team - particularly Dr. Martin Stein - would make the episode he appears in a must-watch. 2) Supergirl Supergirl has been great so far, and that makes The CW's decision to pass on the series all the more infuriating. If they can come to a deal with CBS to make a crossover with Legends of Tomorrow a reality, then we'd no doubt be in store for a blockbuster episode (especially if Green Arrow and The Flash also appeared). With no mention of Superman in their world, Kara obviously hails from an alternate reality, but that would make these heroes meeting no less satisfying. Simply put, Supergirl deserves the opportunity to interact with them, and using the team from Legends of Tomorrow to facilitate that would be clever and an awesome way to connect these worlds. Ideally, that will then lead to crossovers with Arrow and The Flash somewhere down the line, but using Legends of Tomorrow to first increase interest in both this spinoff and the newly launched Supergirl would be a smart move on the parts of both networks. 1) Constantine While Constantine's recent appearance in Arrow was billed as a one off, fans are already desperate to see more of the demon hunting Englishman back in this corner of the DC Universe. A logical place for him to next show up is Legends of Tomorrow, especially as he has history with Sara Lance and is the perfect person to help the team out if they square off with a magical threat of some sort. Constantine never really stood a chance thanks to the appalling way NBC handled the series, but Matt Ryan was perfect in the role, and it would be amazing to see him get the opportunity to live on here as part of this team (especially if it results in him getting his own series again). For that to happen though, you'd best hope the long delayed Justice League Dark movie remains that way, because Constantine's appearance there could put the breaks on him having a future on the small screen. I guess we're just going to have to wait and see for now...
