Whoever is in the Iron Mask spelled out “J-A-Y” to Barry when he was being held captive by Zoom, but was that in a bid to reveal the real identity of the villain (who was posing as Jay Garrick at the time and had not yet been revealed as Hunter Zolomon), or a way of trying to tell the hero who he really is?

The Flash‘s showrunners have already confirmed that Hunter Zolomon is not a reinvention of the actual Jay Garrick, so revealing a new actor as the actual Jay would be a great way of redeeming the hero that fans are still desperate to see in live-action. It also sets up a third season where these two iconic DC Comics superheroes could actually team-up together. Whether Jay is currently a regular guy or already has powers, this twist is one which would please just about everyone.
