8 Things We Want To See In Westworld Season 2

Unlike a lot of shows, HBO's Westworld lived up to all the hype surrounding it before its release and became must-watch television. The sci-fi western drama proved to be a fresh take on the familiar 'robots go rogue' story, offering a multi-layered puzzlebox of a first season. Week by week it piled on the intrigue and mystery, garnering a very active and devoted fanbase of theorists and easter egg hunters. Even better, it then stuck the landing and provided most of the answers that we were looking for in an exciting and satisfying feature-length finale, titled "The Bicameral Mind."

When Maeve and her allies are escaping from Westworld, they stumble into a neighbouring facility occupied by hosts dressed as samurai. After fans had been wondering about just this issue for weeks, we finally got confirmation that Westworld was only one of many historically-based theme parks. The reveal of Samurai World is a throwaway moment in the episode itself, but it has major repercussions for the show going forward.

As enjoyable as the Westworld setting is, season 2 should really explore the other theme parks that are out there as there’s so much more potential to mine and many questions we want to know the answers to. For instance, will we see the likes of Futureworld, Medieval World and Roman World, which all featured in the original 1970s movies? Furthermore, do all the parks depict eras from history, or are some set in fantasy worlds – like, for instance, Westeros?

And, more importantly, if the hosts in Westworld are breaking out of their loops, what’s stopping the others from doing the same? If that many angry hosts joined together, they could form one hell of an army, don’t you think?
