Though much shorter than the Arrow trailer that dropped earlier today, this first promo for the third season of Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. still manages to do a great job of teasing some of the big developments we have to look forward to when the show returns later this month.
We know Daisy (Chloe Bennett) will be assembling her own team of Secret Warriors under the watchful eye of Coulson (Clark Gregg), and in the teaser we see her begin to do just that. There’s also quick flashes of some of the other returning characters, such as Fitz (Iain De Caestecker), Mockingbird (Adrianne Palicki), Mack (Henry Simmons), and Lincoln (Luke Mitchel), but no sign of Elizabeth Henstridge’s Simmons (who was swallowed by an alien rock at the end of season 2), or Ming Na-Wen as May – who we were told would have a much smaller role this year.
The most exciting part comes right at the end though, as we get our first glimpse of Matt Willig as the monstrous Inhuman known as Lash. His features are obscured, but based on what we can see, it appears that he’s going to be a pretty accurate interpretation of his comic book counterpart.
