Every TV Show Set To Air On The DC Universe Streaming Service

Around a year ago, DC fans got some exciting news when it was revealed that the superhero studio were working on a Netflix-style streaming service that would be dedicated to producing original DC content. The first project announced for it was Titans, the first ever live-action adaptation of the Teen Titans, with others having been added over time.

Young Justice: Outsiders

Young Justice is one of the most popular superhero animated series from recent times. While the likes of Teen Titans Go! and Avengers Assemble are often criticized by fans as being too kid-friendly, Young Justice was seen as the gold standard of how to appeal to younger viewers and old school DC fans alike. Sadly, Cartoon Network pulled the plug on the series after just two seasons back in 2013, due to poor toy sales. After years of fan campaigns, however, Warner Bros. have seen fit to relaunch the show and finally deliver season 3.

Proving that you can never have too many teen heroes, Young Justice features an alternate group of adolescent vigilantes. These guys are the official understudies of the Justice League, however, mostly made up of sidekicks who want to prove themselves. The roster expanded a lot over the show’s first two runs, but it’s been revealed that the team in Outsiders will consist of Static, Kid Flash, Robin, Wonder Girl, Spoiler, Blue Beetle, Beast Boy and Arsenal – plus new characters Arrowette and Thirteen. Fan favourites such as Dick Grayson, Superboy and Artemis will also recur.

The last we saw of the show, The Light – the mysterious league of supervillains with unknown motives – were revealed to be allied with Darkseid, suggesting that an Apokoliptian invasion of Earth could be on the cards in season 3. We haven’t had this confirmed, but it’s known that showrunners Greg Weisman and Brandon Vietti are continuing on with the series just as they planned to before its initial cancellation, so expect that plot thread to be picked up on.
