DC TV Roundup: Killer Frost And Alchemy Make An Impact On The Flash

While Marvel and DC battle to see who wins at the box office, it’s virtually inarguable that it's the latter who dominates the small screen. This week, a rather pivotal episode of The Flash directed by none other than Kevin Smith graced airwaves and saw our beloved Caitlin Snow look into the abyss and grapple with the Killer Frost side of her psyche. Thankfully (depending on whom you ask), Barry Allen was able to appeal to her humanity and bring her back from the edge.

Whenever you introduce a character on a comic book TV show whom we all know is destined for greater things, we the people expect payoff at some time or another. From the start, we knew Cailtin Snow was to become Killer Frost and Cisco Ramon would eventually become Vibe and, interestingly enough, both have yet to make the complete transition and we’re knee deep in the third season.

Sure, we did see Earth-2’s Caitlin go full Killer Frost last season, but that simply isn’t enough. When a full character arc is implied and now seemingly in full swing, the producers had better go whole hog. The beauty is that she doesn’t necessarily have to give up her spot on Team Flash and can instead be a hero named Killer Frost, a scenario that could mirror what’s yet to come in comics as that very character is set to join Batman’s new team in the pages of the new Justice League of America series launching in February. Some clever synergy may be afoot and we certainly hope so, because to not see Caitlin become Killer Frost would ultimately be a massive disappointment.

But hope springs eternal, for she’s said to factor into Savitar’s plan, which brings us to….
