DC TV Roundup: Killer Frost And Alchemy Make An Impact On The Flash

While Marvel and DC battle to see who wins at the box office, it’s virtually inarguable that it's the latter who dominates the small screen. Now having taken over four nights of the week when it comes to prime time programming, serialized superhero storytelling has swiftly become a cornerstone in the lives of many a geek these days.

After seven episodes, the true identity of Alchemy has seemingly been revealed. While a Scream-like unmasking would have been preferable, this revelation pretty much came out of nowhere at the end of “Killer Frost.”

Though, we must admit, learning that Julian Albert is Savitar’s top acolyte is anything but shocking. Looking back at the first two seasons, there was really only one real suspect when it came to deducing the identity of The Reverse Flash and an incredibly short list for Zoom, although the clues were anything but subtle. The fact that we were given no other possibilities for Alchemy made this seem about as surprising as finding cheese on pizza.

Unless, of course, this is a red herring. Greg Berlanti, executive producer on The Flashrecently stated that Alchemy’s identity would be revealed in the midseason finale (set to air on December 6), but it’s very possible that he was taken out of context and meant it would take place around that time. Still, we should all brace ourselves for yet another curveball.
