In last week’s episode, we saw both the death of Captain Cold and Rip’s family, so the team definitely has something to fight for as they look to rescue Hawkman and Hawkgirl from the villain’s clutches. Of course, even though the Time Masters are no longer backing him up, the fate of the world is still on the line regardless of how personal this battle becomes.

For more details on the season finale of Legends of Tomorrow (which is rather appropriately titled “Legendary”), here’s the official synopsis.

After the numerous sacrifices the team has made since the beginning of this ride, Rip (Arthur Darvill) decides that it’s time they each decide their own destiny and returns them to Central City a few months after they first left. Returned to their normal lives, each team member must individually decide if they are willing to sacrifice everything in order to save the world.

Meanwhile, Sara (Caity Lotz) visits with her father (guest star Paul Blackthorne) who delivers some heartbreaking news about her sister. Dermott Downs directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & Chris Fedak and teleplay by Phil Klemmer & Marc Guggenheim.

With the promise of a major DC Comics superhero being introduced in the finale, it’s going to be very interesting to see how Legends of Tomorrow builds towards its second season here and also how it closes out what’s been a pretty impressive rookie outing.
