Epic New Gotham Trailer Is All About Bane

With only three episodes of Gotham remaining, we as fans are going to have to come to grips with how Fox is deciding to air them. Don't forget, the show is taking this week off so that the iHeartRadio Music Awards may do its thing, only to return on March 21st with "I am Bane." Then, get ready for a string of reruns because the remaining two episodes won't drop until late April. Yeah, somebody at the network thought that was a good idea - or they don't have anything else to fill that time slot until May.

For now, though, we’re going to focus on “I am Bane” because a thrilling new trailer (seen at the top) has been released, showing us all what Gotham’s reckoning looks like. Admittedly, I’m still not entirely keen on his attire. But unlike many people out there, I wanted to see Shane West’s performance before passing judgment – and I’m glad I did.

This may not be the masked Luchador familiar to comic book readers, but this iteration of Bane’s presence and charisma is undeniable. In other words, I’m actually able to believe he’s going to kick the crap out of anyone in his way.

Upon further examination of his rig, we see that any peripherals attached to him are on his chest, as opposed to how we’re used to seeing them on Bane’s back. And from the look of it, the technology supplied by Hugo Strange helps keep him alive after being impaled by rebar – though it appears as though the Venom drug may be utilized as well. The mask, meanwhile, is somewhat reminiscent of what Tom Hardy wore in The Dark Knight Rises.
